Jardim Felicidade
Founded in: 1990
Meaning behind the name: The name refers to the Felicidade housing complex, where Father Pigi and Rosa helped organize families after the expropriation of the Tamboril estate.
Our Story: The Felicidade Housing Complex was created to provide safe and affordable housing for families living in vulnerable circumstances.
In 1985, Father Pigi traveled to Brasília to secure the allocation of the land and the construction of the first 800 homes on the former Tamboril Farm, laying the foundation for what would become the Felicidade neighborhood.
As the community grew, so did the need for a safe place where single mothers could leave their young children during the day. In response, the Jardim Felicidade Early Childhood Education Center was established, initially serving 130 children from birth to six years of age in a caring environment that promoted protection, education, and healthy development.
Over the years, the facility also hosted the Alvorada Apprenticeship Program (2004–2020) and the Alvorada Social-Educational Center (2004–2017), offering cultural workshops, nutritious meals, educational activities, and opportunities for children and adolescents to develop their talents and build meaningful relationships.
The center also supported young people as they prepared to enter the workforce through apprenticeship initiatives, while providing guidance and activities for their families.
Today, the Jardim Felicidade unit offers after-school educational support and a variety of programs designed to foster the development of children, adolescents, and their families.
