The “Educazione per la Realtà Totale” (Education for the Whole of Reality) project, developed by the Alvorada Socio-Educational Center of Obras Educativas Padre Giussani, was recognized as the regional winner of the 2005 Itaú–UNICEF Award, selected from among 1,600 organizations from across Brazil.
The award was presented by the Itaú Social Foundation, UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund), and CENPEC (Center for Studies and Research on Education, Culture, and Community Action). The Itaú–UNICEF Award recognizes and promotes the work of civil society organizations that develop socio-educational initiatives, encouraging children's and adolescents' enrollment, school attendance, learning, and active participation in Brazil's public education system.
