To strengthen dialogue with the Municipal Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents of Belo Horizonte (CMDCA/BH) and encourage greater youth participation in civic decision-making, seven young people from Jardim Felicidade joined the Council's plenary session on May 11.
During the session, the partecipants introduced themselves to Council members and asked questions about the Council's role, responsibilities, and decision-making process.
During the meeting, Council members also approved the work plan for the Mosaico Vivo project, an initiative focused on expanding opportunities and support for adolescents.
Other topics discussed included the Permanent Commission of Adolescents, the upcoming state and national conferences and the ongoing challenge of developing effective indicators to measure the impact and reach of programs. This remains a shared priority for both civil society organizations and Council members.
By participating in the plenary session, these young people strengthened their role as active citizens and advocates for their communities. Their presence also reinforces the importance of including youth voices in the development of public policies that reflect their lived experiences and respond to their real needs.
