The story of two sisters who grew up at the Obras.

“Life was hard, it wasn’t an easy life. We were always poor. There were five of us living in two rooms and one bathroom.”

Amid so many hardships, it was the early childhood center that offered this family welcome, opportunity, and hope. “As children we couldn’t go out, travel, or go to the movies… everything we came to know, we discovered thanks to the early childhood center.”

More than just looking after the children while their parents worked, the early childhood center offered education, knowledge, culture, and guidance for life. “If the early childhood center hadn’t helped my family, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”

Looking back on this journey, the feeling comes down to a few words: “It’s just love. There’s no other word. Love.”

And they leave a special thank-you: “To Rosa and Father Pigi, who changed the life of an entire community. They may not even realize everything they’ve done for us.”
